The author of this web page wish to emphasize that by including this overview is NOT in any way promoting dog fighting. Matching two dogs in combat is illegal in all of the United States and a felony in most parts. The author has not fought dogs nor has the author seen an organized dog fight. I feel that this view is accurate but it should be treated as fictional hearsay as that is what it is. It is included here so that the reader can better understand just what the APBT is and what he has been traditionally bred for. This also gives a more accurate, balanced account of what the traditional pit match was really like.
Due to me joining the navy and not being able to keep any dogs right now I just wanted to make it clear that I do not have any pups.
