Elina
Pechersky

One of the leading Middle Eastern Dance Artist, Elina
Phechersky holds an MA degree in dance and movement therapy from Lesley College,
Boston. She is a dancer, choreographer and professional teacher, who perceive Middle Eastern
dance as a legitimate art form. Elina teaches regularly
at the Physical Education Teachers Seminar at the Wingate institute
and in other dance and cultural centers. She has represented Israel in the `Women
Artists Festival` in Sweden, 1996, and in other festivals in the US, France,
Japan, Switzerland and Jordan. In Israel she took part in different festivals, including
the `Acco Alternative Theater Festival`,
`The Storytellers Festival`, the `Woman’s
Festival` and in dance events at the Suzan Dellal Center in
Tel-Aviv.
In 1996 Ms. Pechersky debuted her solo performance
accompanied by live musicians, `A One Woman Harem`, at the Suzan
Dellal Center, Tel-Aviv. The show enjoyed great success and was since
performed on Israel’s main dance stages. In 1998 she performed as a guest soloist with the `Carmon`
Dance Company in Israel and in Portugal.
Ms. Pechersky was the pioneer in introducing Oriental
dance to the mainstream artistic dance venues. In 1998, she represented Israel at the Exposition `Expo
98` in Lisbon, Portugal. In July 1999, Elina was in charge of the artistic
consultancy for an Eastern Dance celebration in the `Machol Lohet Festival`
in the Suzan Dellal Center in Tel-Aviv. In April 2000, she was artistic Director of an original
production of the Suzan Dellal Center in the East Asian Dance under the
title: `A circle of Roses
