Bruce Springsteen
& The E Street Band

Rocktober 5th & 6th, 2007
Wachovia Center  ~  Philadelphia, PA

For two nights in early October, Bruce Springsteen and the boys in the E Street Band did what they do best.  Very simply, put on the best damn rock n roll show you'll find anywhere.  Of course, lifelong fans like us will follow and do what we do best.  Get together, crank up Bruuuuce while tailgating, and enjoy the show.  Neither dissappointed...

Here's our story...

The Whiteys, Webers and the Sullivans all met up in Philadelphia on a beautiful Friday afternoon.  Primo parking in Lot H, beers, stoagies, hoagies (which ryhmes), chips all in tow.  Heck, we even brought our own dinette set.

To the right, the early Webers and Whiteys. In the picture along side that, Allan and Denise discuss the best way to the portable pottie for the ladies, while Whitey looks off into the distance in pose. Apparently nobody told him it was a Bruce show, not a U2 show.

The Sullivans arrived shortly afterwards. Michelle was only told about the concert in the car while traveling south from NYC.  A nice little surprize for the new expecting mom.

Next we see a bunch of posers.  Pooh and Sean with the old Spectrum in the background.

Inside the Wachovia Center the Sullivans and Whiteys.

How about these shots taken by Pooh and TC?  Oh yeah that reminds me, more on our story.

So after buying tickets, not buying tickets, selling tickets, the above group finally lands Super Box tickets courtesy of Tom Walley, a Hollywood record exec.  You can't make this stuff up, and Mr. Walley a longtime Peterson friend (a school teacher before founding ?? records), made a few calls on our behalf.

Anyway... Fellow Tweed Farmer Marky Mark's uncle also had Suite tickets, so he was at this show as well.

Well... the SECOND night of the show, Mark ended up getting a few extra tickets.  TC was on hand, as were late adds Pooh AND Nana! Nana was actually on her way back home when the call came in to turn around. She had a date with Mr. Springsteen.

Enjoy the pictures, more yapping below...

Here's the setlists for both shows. Those little white things are actual copies of the handwritten setlists Bruce uses.  You can see lots more of this stuff by clicking on the official Springsteen website.

As for these songs, lots of new ones, lots of classics.  Just the thought of the opening harmonica in The Promised Land, and the soulful lyrics of My Hometown gets me misty.

As for the 2nd show, I didn't make that one.  I'm still bummed out that I missed a live rendition of Incident on 57th Street, my all-time favorite Bruce tune.
