Just to let you all
know, the time of this story is a month after the fall of Waterford. I
made a mistake in the last story. It had only been weeks not years. That
was why Morgan was confused when she awoke to see a man who was a child a
before.
The Price of Power by Morgan Blackflame
************************************************
It had been a lot for Morgan to grasp, but she knew that path of Shai'tan
was not for the weak. Only those who persevere will grow to power. Their
hate is focused, their bodies tempered by pain and torment and their fates
intertwined with the destruction of god's world.
Morgan slowly walked out of the Black Forrest of Torment. Her feet had
been ripped to shreds by the razor sharp underbrush. As Morgan once again
stood in the sun she healed herself with a small prayer to Shai'tan.
Before Morgan was a massive field of wild flowers. Animals were darting
about, butterflies fly all about and the sky was void of any clouds.
At one time Morgan would have enjoyed a walk in the sunlight, but that
time was no more. All she knew now was pain and anguish. Her son was
probably dead, killed by her master and lover for betraying Shai'tan. But
tis the fait of those who would leave the chosen path. And Morgan's name
was only spoken today as a threat to scare little children.
Morgan decided that her name would command fear as it once did. She needed
to reach Feldar and see if the war with the vampires still waged. Gorron
had told her that Waterford and Lokyn had fallen to the large army of
undead. Morgan wondered how this vampire had gained control of the dead.
From what she was told, he did not command the black mist that Shai'tan
had taught her to use.
At that moment a deer jumped up in front of Morgan and fled for the woods,
as if it sensed Morgan's intentions. Morgan reached down to the ground and
a black bolt shot into it. Instantly all life around Morgan died. All the
flowers dropped and the sky grew black. Morgan wanted her master to sense
that she was back...
**************************************************
"Mayor Duval, Mayor Duval! What are we to do? We all know that there
is darkness to the east of us. And now something has awakened it."
"Nonsense. There is no dark force east of us that our town should
fear. The woman that threatened our town died. And no force can bring her
back. We have a treaty with the nomads in the Mts to the west. What should
we fear?" Said Duval.
"But Mayor.."
"Just calm down Bleak. Go back to your weapons shop. All will be
fine. It’s just a storm and nothing else. Everyone go home." With
that the Mayor turned and went back into his house.
The Mayor entered his house and went straight for the kitchen. His hunger
was growing every second. Then as he walked into the room, his gaze met
that of a beautiful woman. Her lips were a deep crimson red and she wore a
form fitting black dress.
"Well, what do we have here? Can I help you miss? Or are you just
here to pay me a special visit?"
"You mistake me for one of your town’s whores. I am here to collect
a dept that you owe me fat one."
"I don't know who think you are, but I am the Mayor of Nitos and no
one speaks to me like that.
I will have you thrown into a cell for this."
The room suddenly began to grow cold, very cold. The Mayor's frantic
breath began to look like mist. But no mist came from Morgan. Her body
began to emanate power. "You owe master Shai'tan your soul my little
pig. You sold me your soul long ago to ensure your status as mayor. I
killed your competition and gave you wealth. I am here to take what is
mine!"
"No, but..But you’re dead. You died!"
"Yes, it was a unique experience. Why don’t you try it." And
with that being said Morgan shot forth a large green sphere at the Mayor.
It slammed me across the room. His brains exploded from his head when he
slammed into the stone wall.
Morgan walked over to the corpse and began to smell. "Ahhh, your soul
is stained with many sins. It will be a great meal."
Morgan reached down and went to kiss the man. As she did a white glowing
mist began to rise from his mouth. It slowly began to flow up into
Morgan's mouth, nose, and eyes. An unearthly scream began to echo from the
corpse. The white mist began to glow very brightly. Then as sudden as it
began, it ended.
The front door of Mayor Duval's house busted open.
"Mayor, are you here? Is everything alright?"
The Young man walked into the kitchen and turned white with horror. Before
was the body of the mayor. He was slumped against the wall. His brains
were splattered behind him. A large puddle of blood was still forming. But
the room was void of anyone else. The young man then felt a chill. It was
as if death just walked through him. He quickly turned and ran for help.
Morgan had no problem leaving the small fishing town. She looked westward
towards the Black Ice Mts. All she had to do was to cross these mountains
and she would once again be in Feldar.
She could still sense her master’s aura. He is much stronger now since
the last time she saw him. She yearned for his powerful touch. The
thoughts of what they did last time they were together sent shivers up her
spine.
"Soon my love, I will fight by your side once again!"
