Welcome to The Out Island 28 Sailing Page. The Out Island 28 was built by
Morgan Yachts from 1973 through 1976. They are very stable, long range, shoal
draft cruisers. The Out Island 28 is perfect for coastal cruising or as a
liveaboard cruiser for two people. LOA is 28' 5" with a 9' 3" beam. Total
weight is 8000 lbs with 3200 lbs of lead in a shoal draft keel. The cabin has
6' 2" headroom
through out and sleeps six comfortably. Our O/I 28, Prime Rate, is powered by
a BMW D12 diesel. The standard engine was the Atomic 4 gas inboard, diesel

Prime Rate is a 1974 Morgan Out Island 28, hull # 137. We've made many upgrades
to Prime Rate including, central A/C and heat, hot water, shower, 12 volt
refrigeration,
electric stove, new hull and deck paint, plus many interior upgrades. You can
