Brian Allen and Cuddles BRIAN ALLEN

Purple shadows prowl
Shy darkness creeps over the hills
Cactus sentinels

Brian is happily retired from the military and now works - when the spirit moves him! - as a computer techie. He's settled near his younger daughter, her husband, and their children. Much of Brian's writing was done in Arizona where he's spent winters in the past. And no...that's not a mop...that's Cuddles! Brian says of himself: “Tall, grey, snarly pessimist who has realized a life-long goal of becoming a parasite on society. What more is there to say?” I say his bark is much worse than his bite! He's a kind, gentle, very creative guy and I'm so happy that he's my friend.

Here's his website: Allen's Alley

Stark sunbaked sand
Pounding thundering torrent
Rainbow explosion
Brilliant clear sky
Blue shadows conquer mountains
Orange flame erupts
Short Ode To Scotch:
Peat rich, smokey soft
Cherished ancestral gift
Lurking pagan dreams
Reach out, grasp the flame
Prometheus never knew
Stygian darkness
Moonlit silver earth
Stars speckle purple velvet
Coyote pleads his love
Shadows of the mind
Memories awaken dreams
But you are still gone
Joyous birds awaken
Crimson clouds shatter pale sky
Sip morning coffee
The wind whispers dreams
Ghostly caresses tempting
Escape! Fly with me
