Adventures of a Boy with a Pet Cat with a Pet Mouse with a Pet Spider Another of the old Alex bedtime series. Always start with filling backpack with snacks, warm and cold clothes, treats to trade and share. One of the pets always has the special skills needed. spider makes a rope cat can see in the dark mouse can fit small places

One day, one very pretty summer day, one day that was perfect for an adventure, the Boy decided to explore the Big Woods beyond his backyard. He told his Mother, and she helped him to pack his supplies.

They packed his poncho, in case it rained, which it almost certainly would not.

They packed his lunch, in case he got hungry, which he most certainly would.

They also packed lunches for the Cat, the Mouse, and the Spider, who always came on the Boy's adventures.

The Boy is brave, but feels braver when he can take his pet Cat along.

The Cat is brave too, but feels braver when he can take his pet Mouse along.

The Mouse is brave too, but feels braver when he can take his pet Spider along.

The Spider is bravest of all, and has no pet to take along.

They also packed a map of the Big Woods, which they had made on an earlier adventure, when the whole family had gone. The map showed all the good places to explore, and the Boy, who was very thorough, checked one place off after each adventure.

Today, he would explore the Waterfall, so they packed some special supplies.

My very first one, first of a series of bedtime stories for my son.
