The Clans of the Camarilla
The Camarilla claims that all vampires are under its purview, whether they wish to be included or not. The Camarilla realistically comprises seven clans, or six with the leaving of the Gangrel, though any Kindred may be recognized as a member if she so declares.
~Brujah~
The Brujah are a clan cursed to carry our beast close to the surface. They suppress all emotion lest the beast use it to come roaring to the surface and take over. The beast's proximity to the surface is also true of their antitribu brothers.
Nicknames: Rabble, Fists
Clan Disciplines: Celerity, Potence, Presence.
Weakness: Blood Madness. Brujah anger much more quickly than other vampires do. All difficulties to resist frenzy increase by one (maximum 10).
~Caitiff~
Seduced and abandoned by their sires, the Caitiff are everywhere on the fringes of Camarilla society. Clanless and unwanted trash, the Caitiff are the results of one-night stands, infatuations, frenzied Embraces and outright mistakes. Most have recollections, at best, of sire and Embrace; some have none whatsoever. Stumbling along the haze of new existence, each eventually discovered the keys to survival - usually in the form of other Caitiff looking out for the newcomer - or died trying.
Nickname: Trash
Clan Disciplines: Any
Weakness: Caitiff can purchase any Discipline at character creation, but thereafter have to pay six times current rating for any and all powers purchased with experience points.
~Lasombra-Antitribu~
There are no Lasombra Antitribu, at least, no according to the Lasombra themselves. The Sabbat Lasombra deny that "traitors" exist, while the so-called Antitribu see themselves as Lasombra -- nothing more, nothing less. Not all Lasombra who disagree with the clan's stance within the Sabbat join the Camarilla -- a significant percentage of this relatively small number simply go Independents and absent themselves from vampiric politics entirely. The remainder, however, seize for themselves positions of respect and authority -- if not prominence -- in the Camarilla.
Nickname: None. The Lasombra Antitribu don't go for that sort of thing. It's not dignified.
Disciplines: Dominate, Obtenabration, Potence
Weakness: Like their Sabbat counterparts they don't have reflections
~Malkavian~
Dismissed as madmen and kooks, the clan of seers is alternately derided and feared. Every last member of the Malkavian clan is twisted in some fashion, rendered incurable insane by the power of the clan's blood. For some, this madness takes the form of hideous homicidal displays or outrageous chaotic behavior; in others, a quiet, insidious bent makes its way through the vampire's thoughts. In all cases, the blood makes Malkavian unpredictable, potentially dangerous and absolutely free from the confines and expectations of normalcy
Nickname: Kooks
Disciplines: Auspex, Dementation (or Dominate), Obfuscate
Weakness: Every last vampire of Malkav's brood is irredeemably insane in some form or another
~Nosferatu~
Caines childer are called "The Damned," and no vampires embody this more fully than the wretches of Clan Nosferatu. While other vampires still look human and may travel in mortal society, Nosferatu are twisted and deformed by the curse of vampirism. Other Kindred speak shudderingly of Caine placing a mark upon the entire clan for the monstrous deeds of its Antediluvian founder. As such, Nosferatu find themselves loathed and ostracized by the other Children of Caine, who consider them disgusting and interact with them only when they must
Nickname: Sewer Rats
Disciplines: Animalism, Obfuscate, Potence
Weakness: Appearance is always at 0 unless modification is made, though it returns to 0 the next night.
~Salubri~
This widely hated bloodline has far more enemies than it really deserves. Only seven of these Cainites exist at a time for after a Salubri attains Golconda, she ends her existence and passes her blood to the individual she has chosen to take her place. Almost none survive for more than a few hundred years, for the Salubri consider vampiric existence to be agony. These vampires can usually pass as humans until someone notices that they possess a third eye.
Nickname: Cyclops
Disciplines: Auspex, Fortitude, Obeah
Weakness: Blood has to be willingly given to them, if it isn't, every blood point taken is a Health Level lost. Also, they must continually persevere toward Golconda, any straying from this path will dead to dire consequences.
**We are not accepting this clan at this time.
~Toreador~
The Toreador are called many things -- "degenerates," "artistes," "poseurs" and "hedonists" being but a few. But any such lumped categorization does the clan a disservice. Depending on the individual and her mood, Toreador are alternately elegant and flamboyant, brilliant and ludicrous, visionary and dissipated. Perhaps the only truism that can be applied to the clan is its members' aesthetic zeal. Whatever a Toreador does, she does with passion. Whatever a Toreador is, she is with passion.
Nickname: Degenerates
Disciplines: Auspex, Celerity, Presence
Weakness: When a Toreador views, hears or smells something that is truly beautiful they must make a Self-Control roll, difficulty 6 or become entranced.
~Tremere~
The members of this clan are dedicated and extremely well-organized. Others, however, think of them as arcane and untrustworthy. They are aggressive, highly intellectual and manipulative, and respect only those who struggle and persevere despite all odds. The Tremere believe they must use the other clans in order to prosper. "Be friendly with them, let them think that we are one with them, but never forget that we serve our clan first and foremost," the Tremere elders whisper to their progeny. "If you must use your friends in service to the clan, then you know that your time was not wasted."
Nickname: Warlocks
Clan Disciplines: Auspex, Dominate, Thaumaturgy
Weaknesses: Tremere neonates must all drink from the blood of the seven elders of the clan when they are created. This means that all Tremere are at least one step toward being Blood Bound to the clan, and therefore must watch their step very carefully when around their leaders.
~Tzimisce-Antitribu~
A very, very, VERY rare clan. They are quite like their Sabbat counterparts, though with, oddly, a more humane mindset.
Nickname: Disgraces
Clan Disciplines: Animalism, Auspex, Vicissitude
Weakness: The same as their counterparts, they must sleep within two handfulls of their native soil or lose half their Dice Pools from all actions every 24 hours until down to one die
**We are not accepting this clan at this time.
~Ventrue~
Old-fashioned and tradition-bound, the Ventrue are sophisticated and genteel. They believe in good taste above all else and work hard to make their lives comfortable. They are most frequently the leaders in the Camarilla, and are cautious, honorable, social and elegant Kindred.
Nickname: Blue Bloods
Clan Disciplines: Dominate, Fortitude, Presence
Weaknesses: Ventrue have exacting and rarefied tastes, even when it comes to blood. The player must pick a restriction on the type of blood her character can feed upon, e.g. only young men, no animals, only virgins, etc. The character will feed on no other type of blood, not even if she is starving or under duress.
