For those who know the history of this band, you will remember that this was the name first considered for the MOSES band. For the story behind the name... well, you know who to ask, don't you...;-) 5/24-28/06 MOSES' bass player Vimala recently returned from a week at UCLA where she was both helper and participant in Uli Jon Roth's [ ex-Scorpions] Sky Academy guitar workshop. CHUCK MOSES IN MOJO MAGAZINE! 3/11/06 Chuck Moses has received some much deserved accolades for his contribution to Todd Clark's early albums which were recently re-released as the two disc set "Nova Psychedelia"[Anopheles Records]. The article, written by pop culture writer Jon Savage, appears in the current issue of Mojo Magazine [issue 149, p. 112]. It has yet to be released in the States. You can view the page online at this link. [click here] Enjoy! 11/3/05 Former MTV band "Haywire" bass player, Pete LaCava will be sitting in on bass while Vim is on a much needed European vacation. He's a great bassist and lots of fun! SAD NEWS... Our friend and your's, legendary rock journalist and author Al Aroniwitz passed away on August 1 following and courageous bout with cancer. Chuck and Vimala traveled to Elizabeth, NJ to pay final respects to 'the man who turned on the world'. Al spoke at his own memorial service through the words of a piece he wrote years ago called "August Blues". We share those words with you here [click]. R.I.P Al, we love you! NEW ADDITION! The band played at the Hard Rock Cafe at Station Square in Pittsburgh on Sunday, Nov. 7. Also, performing was popular Pittsburgh band On Beyond Zebra. (posted 7/21/04) Confirmed: MOSES has been honored with an invitation to appear with author Al Aronowitz at a book signing at Borders Books in the North Hills of Pgh. (McKnight Road) on Saturday, September 18, 2004 from 7:00 til 9:00pm. The event will feature readings by the author from his book, plus music by MOSES. Mr. Aronowitz will be signing copies of his book "Bob Dylan and the Beatles" which will be available at the Borders store, along with copies of MOSES' self-titled CD. (See 7/1/04 news item for more info and link to the book.) ANNOUNCING!!! (posted 7/1/04) A new book. "Bob Dylan and the Beatles: Volume One of the Best of the Blacklisted Journalist" by Al Aronowitz was recently released by First Books Press and is available online through most online book stores (i.e., Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com, etc.). The book is an intimate, eye-witness account of life behind the scenes of these two iconic rock acts, during their heyday in the 60s, by the only writer who was actually there. Mr. Aronowitz is the MOSES band's most renown fan and ally (for related photo and story, see below [4/24/02] or, click here), and is popularly known as "the godfather of rock journalism." Check it out for photos and comments made by some of the Best Folks around... click here. 10/8/03 HEADING BACK TO NYC...MOSES is making preparations to return to the BIG APPLE for a performance on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The band will be appearing with "sister act" Kaos from Order at the prestigious club Kenny's Castaways, 157 Bleeker Street in Greenwich Village. KFO will play at 9pm, MOSES at 11:30(ish)pm. We are hoping to bring KFO back to Butler with us some time this fall or winter. Will keep you posted! Until then, we look forward to the adventure! 8/8/03 BACK IN THE SADDLE...MOSES is up and running again for Fall of 2003. We are booking gigs again so check out our appearances page (click here.) We are adding some blues tunes to our set list this fall, so if you are in the mood for some Roy Buchanan or Trower's (or Clapton's) bluesier stuff, check us out some time. Many thanks to Don Waller for the high praise. 11/29/02 NEW YORK CITY GIG...New York is looking pretty good for the holidays. MOSES contributed to the festivities by playing Don Hill's Club once again, in the heart of Greenwich Village. Ross Byron,of Kaos From Order was a very welcome member of the evening's audience. 8/20/02 MOSES SINGLE RELEASED...MOSES' new single "Promised Land/Pie in the Sky" is up and running and now available at CD Baby. This single was recorded in October 2001 at A.A.M. Studios (formerly AudioMation) in Pittsburgh, PA. and 'Promised Land" was sent to the Village Voice for consideration in their post-9/11 tribute "Love Songs for New York". Though the recording of the tune Promised Land was inspired by the events of 9/11, Chuck wrote the tune a full year beforehand. It wasn't until after these tragic events that the meaning of the lyrics came clear. To view the lyrics click here. To listen and/or purchase a copy of the new MOSES single, click here. 6/6/02 MOSES will be travelling to New York City to make a special appearance on Manhattan cable TV on June 6, 2002. The band will be the guest on the bi-monthly half-hour TV series "Byron's Red Roller" on MNN-TV Channel 56. Host, Ross Byron, saw the band perform and was quite taken with them at their recent gig at Don Hill's in Greenwich Village. We're pretty excited about this! Former New York POST writer and early friend of Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, etc. honored MOSES with his very special presence at their 4/24 gig at Don Hill's. The legendary writer paid high compliments to the band saying he liked the band's variety and that he had taken the 45 minute drive into the city, especially to see the band perform. It was a total pleasure to meet and talk with him, to hear some of his stories from Rock's glory days, and to know that he deemed us worthy of his time. They will again be performing at Don Hill's club at 511 Greenwich Street @ Spring St. in Greenwich Village. MOSES will perform a half hour set at the beginning of the evening 9 p.m. which will include 9/11 tribute song "Promised Land" and also "Truth & Lies" which we will dedicate to the city in recovery.
