True Heritage Remembers All

wavingNJ.gif
Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

Micah 2:1,2

It is disparaging that any reference to the Confederate states of America has to be hedged with a statement to keep the NAACP attack dogs away but here it is. I am disgusted at the apparent ignorance in the NAACP leadership that wishes to ignore the Confederate veterans of color. Such an attitude is an insult to the heritage of all Confederate veterans. The Confederate flag is a symbol of the sacrifice of black Confederates as much as any others. Confederates of many races rose up in arms to repel those who had invaded their homeland.

To use a symbol to their own advantage at the expense of those they claim to represent is reprehensible. I hope this subject can be studied dispassinonately and fairly like the folks at the 37th Texas have done. Please spend some time at their site and consider the ancestors they represent before you stomp on their memory with knee-jerk reactions to NAACP propoganda. Removing Confederate flags is an act of terrorism against the memory of Confederates of all colors.

You might also want to see what the columnist, Walter Williams has to say on the subject.

You may wish to ignore or downplay the role of blacks in the Confederate army but I will not join you in dishonoring their memory for the sake of political correct intolerance.

As a final thought, consider the fact that a union kept by force is nothing short of slavery in itself. When Ape Lincoln sent his goons to force the seceded states back in the union he was acting no differently than the master who sends hounds to find his runaway slave. The war did not end slavery, it only expanded slavery's scope.
