Motivation

Most persons who have never ridden a motorcycle can never understand why the hell others love riding so much. They wonder what is wrong with us. They think that riding is very simple. They think motocross is not a real sport because all we do is sit down and twist the throttle. They think anyone can throw a leg over a bike and go fast without even thinking twice.

So what is it? What keeps us dreaming of clearing a 50-foot triple everyday? What makes us go out to kick up roost every chance we get? Why is riding so great? What is our Motivation?

It is all very simple:

Physical Exertion
Yes, motocross is a physically demanding sport. Even riding around is demanding as well. Try manipulating a 200-plus pound machine to fit into a rut only 5 inches wide, while going as fast as you can. Try staying on a lightweight, wheelie popping two-stroke machine that can accelerate from 0-30 mph faster than a 900cc road-bike. Motocross is one of the most all-round physically demanding sports in the world, so it's a great way to stay fit.

Challenge
What is life without a challenge? There is always a challenge in riding (usually not to drop). There may be a double that you just cant clear, or you could never do a wheelie. But once you put your mind & body to it & clear that double jump, or wheelie from first straight through to third gear, you get more satisfaction out of riding.

Comradery
More friends are made or kept once you do the same activity. Riding is one of the most ultimate & extreme activities. Most riders are some of the coolest & most responsible people around.

Fun
The first (and the most obvious) thing that comes to mind when a rider is asked "why?" is the fun of it. There is a special exhilaration found in riding. Weather it's play riding or racing, the adrenaline is always there & will never be lost.
