Hi!
I first went to Nigeria at the end of 1980.
I spent two years in Mubi - on the Camarounian border,
500 kilometers south of Lake Chad.
In October 1982
I left Mubi on an ancient,
overloaded and underpowered Honda CG 175.
I met some interesting people....
and often stayed with Catholic Missionaries.
I had a lot of mechanical problems.
I dropped the bike (= fell off!) once or twice a day. Punctures most days and a persistent leaking oil-seal. Eventually the clutch gave up and and spare parts were impossible to find. All the same, I managed to sell the bike.
In 1987 I returned on a Honda XL 500.
I reached Jalingo without even a puncture.
