Our first addition!

On May 24, 2001, our first child Brandon Alexander was born. We had over 41 long weeks of waiting, wondering, and anticipating (as detailed in the pregnancy page), but finally our little boy arrived. Seeing Heather give birth to him was about the most mind-blowing experience I can imagine witnessing on this earth! God made him and gave him to us, and I continue to be amazed every time I see his little face...

Important steps in Brandon's first year:

05/24/01 - Brandon Alexander (aka Scooter) is born! With the overwhelming nature of new parenthood, I know that we will be capturing scores of Brandon's "precious moments" on film. On this page I'll try to highlight some of the best shots of our little dude!

06/02/01 - It's bathtime... an event that can be traumatic for a 9-day old! Here are a few images of today's session:

06/11/01 - Brandon is around two-and-a-half weeks old now, and still mostly has three modes... asleep, quietly awake, and fussy/crying (with the first two illustrated below). But he had a milestone today while awake on his tummy- he rolled over! TWICE!

07/30/01 - Wow, it's amazing how much has happened with Brandon in the last 10 weeks. He lost his hair, got baby acne, learned to roll over more, holds his head up, skin cleared up, and he grew his hair back (each represented in picture form below)! He is also starting to replace his pacifier with his fist, which he often tries to shove all the way into his mouth. His best feature now is his varying facial expressions... often times, he will study an object or face extremely carefully before deciding that it's okay to smile (as illustrated on the right).

11/04/01 - Brandon is almost 5 1/2 months old now... can you believe that?! His recent accomplishments include winning us over with his adorableness (I think I just made that word up), making new friends, enjoying little bites of rice cereal, and becoming transfixed at the very sight of a little red Muppet named Elmo (I didn't think it would start this soon!). Of course Brandon isn't happy about absolutely everything, but can often calm himself down now with the much-appreciated art of thumb-sucking. And take a look at his first Halloween... we had a Brandon-o-Lantern!

I'm not sure what babies' dreams are like, but I'll have whatever he's having!

That's all for now... and yeah I know this page is outdated by about 5 years! ;)
