Internet Coupon Sites | Get Paid to Surf | Long Distance & Banking Deals | Protect Yourself Online: Spam and Scams

Alright folks, it's a mobile world out there... with a computer and phone line you can know do just about anything from anywhere! This includes all types of shopping, but did you know there are endless ways to SAVE and MAKE money online?? It's true! And I'm such a fan that I made this website on the topic... enjoy!

Much of what I learned about internet money-saving stemmed from my reading posts on the newsgroups alt.coupons and alt.consumers.free-stuff. Check them out for awhile, and you'll see what I mean!

Take a few seconds to read how to Protect Yourself Online: Spam and Scams - I think you'll find it very informative.

Online Coupon & Deal Pages

- check these sites before you buy online!

Online Coupons @ Specialoffers.com - accurately referred to as "the free and special offers site". Coupons and e-store promos are what this place is all about, categorized alphabetically or by offer type.

DVD Price Search - If you're a DVD lover like me, this site does just what it promises... enter the title of a DVD movie you want, and it will list the online stores with the best prices (including shipping)! Combine low prices with online coupons for maximum savings...

Savings Tree - a fabulous (and huge) collection of all types of online coupons, categorized by product type, new deals, and "Top 10 Deals".

Deal Catcher - the name says it all! Includes handy "Top Deals" section; this site is credited for the $120 I saved when I bought my DVD player!

ValuPage - print out coupon offers that you can redeem at your favorite local grocery store...really! Enter your zip code, the grocery store you shop at, and watch the magic happen. The offers are updated every week.

eBay - My pledge to you: great deals are here, you just have to find them. I'm an eBay fanatic, and have bought/sold all kinds of stuff through the online auctions. My user name is "scottydl" in case you ever stumble onto one of my auctions! If I have any running now, they're listed here.

If you didn't find the coupons you need at the links above, here are some more assorted "deal page" and comparison shopping links. You'll find many of the same deals/coupons on these pages, but it's always worth searching multiple sites for the best deal. Plus, some just have catchier titles than others!

Pay-to-Use Programs

- perks for browsing, buying, or just plain using!

Paypal - This site allows you to pay (and collect) personal debts, and it's as easy as e-mail! I use it for eBay payements all the time. You can use a credit or bank card to manage all the transactions as well.

MyPoints - Earn points by reading e-mail, visiting websites, shopping at certain stores, or completing surveys. You can then trade points for almost any gift certificate or credit you can think of. If you'd like to credit me with the referral, enter "sdlake" at the bottom of the Join page. Enjoy!

Join MyPoints.com and enter 'sdlake' as a referral!

Ebates - like Rebates, only with an "E"...get it? This is like an online mall, giving you over 150 popular online stores from which you can buy whatever you normally do. But the difference is that you earn rebates for shopping, and you can get a check every month! This one also has a referral program, so click here if you'd like to sign up and help me out!

Long Distance & Online Bank Savers

- find the calling deal that's right for you!

Onesuite.com - This is still one of the Best Deals you will find on landline long distance. It acts as a calling card (using a local or toll-free number and a PIN), but there's no card. You fund your account and calls within the U.S. are as low as 2.5 cents a minute! with NO extra fees at all. I've told AT&T, Sprint, and MCI telemarketers about my rate (when they try to sign me up for 5, 7, or 10 cents/minute with a monthly fee), and all they usually say is "Have a nice day" before hanging up.

ING Direct - No brick-and-mortar bank can give you a 2.35% savings account, 2.75% 1-year CD's, and 4.1% 5-year CD's... yet that is what ING Direct offers! Did I mention there are NO fees and NO minimum balances either? They also have a variety of mortgage and investment plans. If they ever offer a checking account, ING will be my sole banker!

10-10 Phone Code Rates & A Bell Tolls - 10-10-321, 10-10-636, 10-10-220, what's the difference between all those dial-arounds? Actually, you can save some bucks by using the right one, and these sites outline them all for you! There's also an extensive lists of long-distance companies, and the services they offer. There are no better deals than Onesuite.com (see above), but this is still worth a look!

Get Connected - compare rates on local, long distance, and cellular phone providers... along with internet access, handheld PDA services, and cable TV.

Point.com and CNET's Wireless Phone Center - both of these sites can give you more comparison and feedback on various cellular & digital plans currently available.

Dialpad.com - a new idea with PC-to-phone calling plans... as low as 1.7 cents/minute if you don't mind the possible internet sound delay and/or lower sound quality.
