March 30th
I am in the process of getting quotes for having the car painted. The
final colour scheme will be a two tone Burgundy/Ivory.
I have also recently finished the patterns for the carpet and am
now at the stage of ordering the carpet itself, which is "mulberry"
coloured with felt backing. The carpet will be cut and edge bound with
burgundy vinyl.
The seats will also be ordered very shortly and will be pale cream
leather with burgundy piping. These babies aren't cheap - the pair
will cost around 750 quid! (I think that's about US $1155 plus tax)
Still to concentrate on
- Petrol filler flap - I have to make the "hidden hinge" so that
the flap will sit flush to the body with no visible evidence of the
hinge. I have designed this already, I just need to make it.
- Wiring - this will be fitted to the car after it has been painted
- There are few other niggly things to finish off, purchase, etc.
- Source smaller accelerator cable bracket or modify existing one
to stop it fouling the bulkhead.
- Make inner wings from aluminium sheet and spray.
- Buy grille mesh material and fit behind front grille.
- Buy fresh air vent intake and fit to bonnet. (Chase up
Stainless Steel Profile Cutters on the pricing of the air intake
grille.) Make heater box cover and fit.
- Clean up engine bay when the body is off being painted. Touch
up and chips on the chassis.
- Buy spare wheel strap and luggage rack (all stainless).
