The car is now painted, MOT'ed, registered and on the road! The
MOT went fairly well, although a coolant hose came off on the way
there. I didn't realise until we got to the garage and there was hot
coolant sprayed everywhere. Soon remedied.
Also, the clutch cable and the accelerator cable had been routed
too close to the exhaust manifold so the sheathing had melted and this
meant the accelerator pedal had lost its "spring" so driving home was
an adventure!
The hood and sidescreens have since been fitted and all that's
left is:
- Heater fan and controls
- Glove box (the door is there, but there's nothing behind it!
- Dash panels (to hide away the wires).
- Petrol tank breather pipe (at the moment it's a sealed unit!)
- Fuel filter
- WHEELS! I still have the Sierra 13" steel wheels on the car. This
is bugging me immensely. It looks bad, and the suspension rubs on
the wheels on hard corners.
- Spare wheel strap. Ordered, but no news. No hurry at the moment
because I don't have a spare wheel. :-)
- Bits of trim. Some of the carpet pieces need fasteners applied to
make them stay in place. (Footwells, Rear seat back)
- Heater surround.
