M body suspension modifications

Basics:

Basically you want to emulate the Copcar suspensions. This means replacing all the rubber frame bushings and isolators with the cast iron cop spacers. Adding the Copcar front and rear swaybars and firm feel steering gearbox. Don't forget to include the Copcar rear springs as well. Actually, you might want to swap the rear axle, springs and all for this. This will stiffen up the handling of your civilian M body greatly, not to mention replace that 2.26 rear gear with a better 2.94 gear.

Upgrades:

Once your car is up to Copcar specs then you can play with stiffer swaybars and firmer shocks. Unfortunately I know of no source for performance transverse torsion bars. Any competent spring shop can make a stiffer set of rear leafs but go easy here as you don't want to overdo it. There are an assortment of polyurethane bushings available, talk to your favorite supplier. You can lower the car an inch or so for improved handling but I'd limit it to that unless you wish to redesign the suspension by eliminating the isolators altogether. I've been running a set of KYB's on my Diplomat for a while now and it does help but until I replace to big rubber K member isolators it'll never be all that great, it is next on the agenda.

If anyone has anything to offer let me know
