Howzit bruddah? Nice site enjoyed the kruize. Trying to build a rod on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is a real test of patience I'm building a fiberglass kit that my brother picked up for me in Calif. Its been through several owners prior to my purchasing it. When it arrived I expected a butchered up kit but was delighted to find it was all there and had never even been started. I paid 5Gs plus 2 more for shipping and have been working on it off and on for about 1 and a half years. There's still along ways to go.I jus finished making a billet steering wheel for it. It's a peace sign shape (very ergnomic)ha ha and it has a Koa laminated rim. I built many cars on the mainland including a 48 fleetline coupe with all 1970 Z28 running gear,also a 23T roadster showcar plus arious other nomads and bathub porsches.Its been nice visiting and I welcome all letters. I'm always looking for others with 41s. Yours looks great! Good job! I just started mine recently. Been doing slight body mods, and looking into the chassis setup that I want. Figure I'll go with a small block and a manual tranny. I like the original appe l of the car, that's why no major mods, and cutting will go on. Big problem finding the trim pieces around the grill in at least restorable condition. Any advise?

Just found your site. Got any more pics of the coupe? I am looking to get pics of '40-'48 Chevy coupes to have sent to me to get them on my own web site as well. I don't have in an engine/tranny combo yet, as I am working on the rear end swap right now. Puttin' in a '79 Nova rear when I get all the parts ordered shipped to me. I will be using the original springs, but have them apart at the moment to clean and rep ace all bushing, shackles and such. Like to see a few pics of your car. I have a basket case, but with good potential. I have shaved the chrome and door handles, put in Trans AM bucket seats, powdercoated all garnish moldings, am putting in electric doors and windows, removed the vent windo s for a single pane window, am vee-butting the windshield, will install a '79 Nova rear end and will maintain the original IFS to give a front lift like an old Willys gasser. Have not decided what engine to use or tranny. conventional wisdom is to go with a 350/350, but I like being a bit unconventional and have considered a 231/350 combo and enven running LPG as the fuel source. Have a long way to go to get it running, but what the hey! Huey

Depending on what transmission you currently have in your car a 700R4 Swap is relatively easy. If it is a turbo 350 your trans mount should be in the right spot and you drive shaft should be the correct length. The main thing is selecting a 700R4, not a 4L60E(Electronic). Preferably an 87-91 trans (on some you might have to swap tailshafts to get a mechanical speedometer. You need one with a TV (throttle valve cable) and a corresponting bracket for the carb (Can order bracket from JEGS). Swap is relati ely straight forward. You can get great converters from Neil Chance Racing Converters for a 700, up to 3000 stall and still have lockup in overdrive.
