This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe was originally purchased by Uncle Punk in Jacksonville, North Carolina while he was stationed at Camp Lejune with the Marine Corps. He returned home to Indiana with it before shipping out to Vietnam in 1967. He was killed in Quang Tri, South Vietnam on 13 May 1967. My Aunt eventually traded this '55 Chevy in on a newer car after his death. In February 1968, my parents found the car on a local car lot and bought it for $357.
