Hello Watercooled VW Enthusiast!
Thank you for your interest in Club H2O Prairie- West Chapter. This
club caters to all
watercooled Volkswagens from Foxes & Jettas, Sciroccos & Corrados,
to hopped up
VR6 conversions in older Rabbits. Whether you're a beginner or a long-
time VW
customizer, this club has something to offer you.
Club H2O was started in August 1996 in the upstate New York area, and
as of July ‘98
we have gone over the 600 member mark. In July of ‘98 the Prairie-
West Chapter was
created for central and western Canadians. The prairie- west chapter
has continued to
grow beyond our expectations in members and events organized. We have
members all
across the US and Canada, and are very pleased at the level of growth
over the last two
years. Much of our success can be credited to four particulars:
1. Great communication, participation, and enthusiasm shared between
club
members. Club H2O members are constantly speaking with each other concerning
modifications and servicing of their beloved vehicles. Many of our
Club H2O members
own or work at after- market accessories shops and/or VW/ Audi repair
shops and
dealerships. Club H2O members are always willing to share advice on
Volkswagens, and
many accessories and repair shops offer discounts to active members.
All Club H2Oers
are enthusiastic about participating in their favorite past time, driving.
If you would like
to have some company on a road- trip to a VW/Audi show or race event,
all you have to
do is make a few phone calls, and next thing you know, a dozen VW’s
and Audi’s are
accompanying you! Club H2O members participate in many events throughout
the year.
Along with attending many VW shows, participating in SCCA autocross
events, and
traveling to events such as TouringCar, Formula 1, IMSA, and Lime Rock
Park events,
Club H2O has many events of their own. Regularly scheduled Tech- sessions
are planned
throughout the year where members can witness the application of after
market
accessories, receive tips on servicing, and share common problems or
issues with their
Volkswagens or Audi’s. We have many seasonal events including a spring
rally, a
summer weekend, annual July trip to Wetaskawin and August trip to Toronto,
a winter
holiday havoc gathering, as well as many meetings and road trips. Club
H2O is also
looking into getting involved with club racing, driving schools, and
drag race events.
2. Our quarterly Club H2O newsletter, “die H2O Losung” (the H2O solution).
The
Club H2O newsletter is created by club members for club members. Club
H2O member
Kevin Sullivan (‘88 Scirocco 16V) is responsible for the great photos
& graphics found
in ea#h issue. Each newsletter is designed to keep you in touch with
all that is going on
with our hobby. Inside you will find classifieds, a member directory,
a feature car article,
many photos of VW/ Audi’s, information on new products, club members
views,
CLubH2Omotorsport info, VW show reviews, and an updated schedule of
events. One of
the best reasons to join Club H2O is to stay informed. During Spring,
Summer and Fall
months there is something almost every weekend to do or attend. Our
goal is to have the
most extensive schedule of events covering the whole of Canada and
the US. Although
our members are spread far and wide, a newsletter keeps us all in touch.
All members are
welcome to submit contributions to the newsletter. If you have a VW
or Audi related
story, classified, picture, ect... send it to Kevin or Scott!
3. Our ClubH2O websites: www.clubh2o.com
and www.oocities.org/MotorCity/Flats/1046
The ClubH2O web site was created by one of our members, David Sudlik
(Corrado VR6
& Passat VR6). It contains general information about the club,
gatherings, photos,
classifieds, merchandise, sponsors, ect... The geocities site was created
by Sean Penny
(two ‘84 Scirocco’s) who is the president of the Prairie- West Chapter
in Canada. It contains
specifics of that chapter, classifieds for Canadians, photos, events,
ect....
4. Club H2O PWC Mailing List. In order to join the Club H2O PWC mailing
list, you must
first become a member. Upon reciept of your membership dues you will
recieve instructions
on how to join the mailing list. It is a great forum to speak with
other chapter members who
you may not have a chance to communicate with normally.
Club H2O is confident that you will be more than satisfied with your
annual membership.
Club dues are only $20 if in the United States. If you decide to join
the Prairie- West
Chapter, club dues or only $35 per year (slightly more than the US
because of exchange
and added postage).
