As one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, BMC sold cars all over the world in the 1950s and 1960s. Today, classic car enthusiasts still enjoy many of these well built cars. Internationally, these enthusiasts share common interests and experiences. BMC had assembly plants in New Zealand, South Africa and the former Rhodesia. With warmer climates and local factories, more cars survived in these areas than in many northern climates. Harsh winters and road salt limited the number of restorable cars in colder climates.
Brendan Milne and his father Alan, have a great collection of six cylinder farinas in South Africa. Featured below are pictures of their cars as well as pictures of other farinas from this part of the world. Cars assembled in the various BMC factories had some interesting differences, some of these can be seen in these pictures.
