Bob & Anne Stevens' Mk Zephyr
The last time we were in Ranfurly for the Art Deco weekend we called to see Jock, who was not in good health, but was very pleased to see his old (Mary Jane as he affectionately called her). Sadly Jock has since passed away. Incidentally, Bob Duke remembers working on the car in Ranfurly when Jock owned the car.
Owning our Mk 2 Zephyr came about after a trip to Naseby in July 1998, with fellow club members Gavin Ladbrook & Don Campbell. Gavin purchased 2 MK II Zephyrs , Don his MKIV Zodiac. I asked Gavin what he was going to do with the older MkII, the rest is history I ended up owning a lovely old MK II.
On getting the three cars home , I had lots of "stick" from Don, about what will Anne say when she finds out what I had bought. Well Stick ,she did give me some grief about what I should do with that heap of junk.
Well with a lot work and help of fellow club members and few ($$$ Stick) we had the car on the road in August 1999.
It appears the car was a demonstration car to introduce the new MKII model into the Maniototo. There was a big day organised in Ranfurly with a lot of interest from the locals. The car was sold to two sisters Mary and Jane Mawhinney, who used to car for weekly excursions to town. The next owner was Mr Jock Littlejohn a local identity of Ranfurly.
We have had some great trips since restoration, one in particular was the Palmerston North Convention where we found Dave King had an identical car with similar rego plates .
We now have a Twin of the MkII. Anne and I have had some great trips to Conventions and many club runs.

Its a great old car for cruising, I will probably pass it on to the family if they show a bit of interest
The other day the odometer turned over to all zero's for the first time from new , so I had to take few photo’s of our new MkII.
