Max and Doreen Rose's MkIV Zodiac |
Sometime around June 2004 I went to a garage sale at a farm workers. I found they
had a Mk IV Zodiac in a shed which was due for demolition - I assured her that
I could give the car a good home After negotiating a price we got the car going on 4 cylinders and drive home. The next few months were spent repairing the wiring which was chewed out by the rats. |
The floor mats were shredded also. I stripped all the floor mats and removed seats
to clean out all the rodent mess and smell. We managed to purchase new floor
mats and these were fitting with some slight alterations. The motor problems turned
to be an easy fix - fit correct plug leads to correct plugs and hey presto
we have 6 cylinders. |
The car had been sitting in a dirt floor shed for 14 years therefore I had to overhaul
the brakes and clutch cylinders also new tyres and exhaust system was also
fitted. We have used the car for several trips and find it a lovely car to drive and very comfortable. Sometime in the future I will remove the motor and clean up and paint the engine bay while the bearings in the motor are replaced due to low oil pressure. We really do enjoy having our Mk IV Zodiac.
