The conditions were 1000 ft elevation and 100 degree ambient temp. The run was made on street tires and pump gas with half a can of octane booster. My MSD boost timing retard was set at 1/2 degree of retard per pound of boost. I made 4 runs total, and three of them ended with trap speeds of 89 mph. Differing launch techniques varied the E.T. by .4 sec, and one run started with way too much wheelspin and a missed shift to third gear :(
The clutch seemed to hold up fine, I didn't break anything, but the exhaust wrap tape smoked pretty good after each run (it was put on the day before).
While I was there, I put the car on the scale and weighed it. The car weighs 2326 pounds without driver! Yeesh, and it's EMPTY! It has a full interior, but only 1/2 tank of gas and a donut spare tire... No cargo. According to the scale, my celica weighs 175 pounds LESS! Go figure.
So, with 2500 pounds race weight and 89 mph through the traps, What's my horsepower??? There was a website somewhere that has a horsepower calculator on it.... Where was that??
