Do not lose this thought...
Remember, right this minute, you have the freedom of choice to wear a helmet in your vehicle. You even have role models, i.e. race car drivers. So before you start bitchin' about what I should be doing, I'm telling you to start setting the example.
I have been riding motorcycles since 1970 and know from personal experience that the best way to avoid serious injuries is to avoid having an accident. I also know that a helmet is very restrictive to both my peripheral vision and hearing. I need the full use of my senses to allow me to drive defensively enough to avoid an accident.
Education and experience are key elements to riding safely. It is not what you put ON your head that will save your life, it is what you put IN your head that will save your life. |
