1996	Formula 1 with TWR/Arrows - best finish 6th at the Argentine Grand Prix, 16th in the championship with 1 point.
1995	Formula 1 with Simtek, which closed mid-season due to sponsor failure - best finish 12th. Testing for Benetton and Ligier.
1994	Formula 1 with Benetton - initially as test driver, but he replaced JJ Lehto in the first few races. During the German Grand Prix, his car erupted in flames during the pit stop. Third in Hungarian & Belgian Grand Prix - 10th in championship with 10 points. (Team mate Michael Schumacher claimed Driver's Championship)
1993	Formula 3 - Formula Atlantic in New Zealand with Graeme Lawrence Racing in a Swift-Toyota (3 victories, 4th overall 185 pts) Formula 3 with WTS Racing in the German Championship (8 victories - Champion) Formula 1 tests with Arrows-Mugen and McLaren-Ford. N.A.V. Dutch driver of the year.
1992	Formula Opel Lotus with Van Amersfoort Racing in the Opel Lotus Benelux Championship, won all races but one (when he crashed out). Won the Opel Lotus Nations Cup with Martijn Koene. N.A.V. Dutch driver of the year.
1991	Graduated from karting into motor racing, testing with Huub Rothengatter, the Dutch ex-Formula 1 driver and now his manager
