The TATA Estate was the first station wagon available in the Indian market. Space is the main virtue of this massive car. The Estate has been modeled along the lines of the Mercedes-Benz Estate [T-Series], and though it looks similar to that car, its higher, heavier and does not even come near the Mercedes in terms of quality, refinement and engineering. The Estate is an excellent concept though -- a car to transport large families and all their luggage in luxurious comfort. Despite its truck like proportions and behavior it is a relatively comfortable car to motor in. The Estate is an entirely indigenous effort.
