Paul's Leather and Cream Run

"I wandered lonely as a cloud...." No
"Guzzis four and lone Ducati
Honda Yam and Kawasaki"

I must stop this but the spirit engendered by the sylvan scenes of Paul's Sunday run still persists.
The day began with a clammy mist but started to bum off by the time we left the Little Chef, about a dozen bikes in all. Heading east we had an easy run to Ringwood then Ibsley and down Snails lane and into the forest; what a superb morning for just toddling along, trees in the first flush of green, foals, calves, and little baby bunny rabbits bounding and skipping everywhere.
Past the Red Shoot and on under the main road to Bolderwood car park where we stopped for refreshments, namely large ice creams, fags and pipe, then heading off again to the promised Cream Teas (at 1300 hours?) about five miles away down a No Through Road. Here endeth the Sunday School outing! When we reached the promised venue, by some Quirk of fate tail end charlie seemed to have made up a couple of places!
We all trooped in and settled ourselves on garden benches: although attempts were made to talk our hosts into succulent things like sausages & eggs & bacon, it was to no avail, cream teas or go without. This was done on both sides with much good humour - I think the lady has dealt with our like before. The teas arrived and were absolutely fabulous, even our famed authority on such fare was impressed.
Whilst we were here we viewed a very rare elderly animal which was a sort of bluey grey and was called a Norwegian something but did not have a beak.
Paying our bills we all shot off to Calshot to view the ships and partake of liquid refreshment.
Most of us left here but I gather four bikes continued via Lepe. and someones private drive, to Bucklers Hard where a poor boatman was persuaded to take our heroes down the river.
It all ended on Poole Quay. Thank you Paul for a super run.
From your country correspondent.

- We did go on the river but we didn't take the bikes, we thought a boat would be better till John Q had a go at wrecking it! Then we came home via some more bits of forest there's an awful lot of it isn't there? Thanks Mick for waxing poetic
more of the same please
Ed

TOMS BITS!!!!

After Paul's splendid Sunday run was bathed in sunshine it was a certain to be wet for Wednesday evening. Seven brave riders and two pillions set off into a murky evening.
We travelled through the Winterboumes which are so beautiful this time of year.
The view from Okeford Hill unfortunately was spoilt by low cloud. We stopped at the Cricketers pub in Shroton where Rocket Ron came up with an absolutely wonderful idea. That is that the leader of the rideout buys everybody a drink Of course he hastily withdrew the idea when he realised he's leading the Sunday run in July.
Many thanks to all who supported the run.

I will not be at the next Monday club night as I shall be amending the International Moto Guzzi Treffen (rally) at Boxmeer in the Netherlands. Do not despair I shall be home to lead you out on June 21st.

The ride will take you on a rather obscure route to the Purbecks.
Just to close with three cheers for Bob Thorpe I'm holding my breath for the moment but we're pretty sure that he has discovered the electrical fault on my Call.
Keep your knees in the breeze! Tom
