ITS BEEN A GOOD YEAR
What a good year!
I've had a fabulous year on the bike, did the National Rally with Pete Munden on his CB650,
and Bob (Ace) on the old Triumph with Derek in the sidecar - we got a silver award for that.
I'm hoping I've achieved a silver in the Round Britain Rally - for those who don't know, that's a
photo rally you do in your own time through the summer. It's what started me travelling on my own,
and I love it now. I've been to some great places I'd never have found on my own, or maybe never
have made the effort to get to, seen quite a lot of Britain really -South Wales, Midlands up to
Staffordshire, South coast, Cornwall, Devon, Somerset.
Did Bob's photo rally too, that was fun, and a bit more local. I went to Brands Hatch WSB meeting
for the whole weekend as a sponsor of a bike in the European Superstocks with Rider'Site - got a
photo of me sifting on the Aprilia RSV Mille race bike, among lots of others of people having a
good time, and I even squeezed in a rally in October, you know the beer and silly games type.
It was just a small one, not advertised - I was invited. Bit muddy, but fun! Got an award there too
- long distance female! (It was only 71 miles, there were folks from much further afield but the
females were pillions!).
Nearly forgot, rode round the demo track at Motorcycle World as well - the scrutineer's label will
stay on my bars till it drops off!
And became Granny of a potential biker! (Rose and Mike's baby Grace)
Oh, and I fixed my carbs so the bike is much more fun now!
Wow, what a year! I really can't expect next year to be as good - can I?
