DeVille

DeVille is the base model traditionalists favor. It has an old-fashioned stand-up hood ornament traditional buyers tell Cadillac they want to see out front as a reminder of their success. It uses a column-mounted gearshift lever. A pad that reconfigures to become a console sits between the two front seats so that Cadillac can call it a six-passenger sedan. And it has a digital-display instrument panel that loyalists also say they prefer to analog gauges.
DTS
DTS, for DeVille Touring Sedan, is a premium version, priced identically to DHS, but it skews toward the performance enthusiast. It has 300 horsepower, vs. 275 hp on the other two models. It comes with a broader array of traction-enhancing, skid-controlling features and a firmer suspension. It alone, among DeVilles, has a floor-mounted gearshift.
DHS
DHS, which stands for DeVille High-luxury Sedan, is another premium version designed to appeal to those among younger buyers who lean more toward luxury and less toward sport. Distinguishing features include chrome wheels, more power accessories, a hedge-your-bets switch to choose analog instruments with big, round gauges and pointers or digital displays of the speedometer and minor gauges or a combination that displays both dials and digital readouts. The hood emblem lies flat instead of sticking up. Front seats are buckets, not bench. The gearshift remains on the column.
