Note: While you see many of the Camp members in reenacting uniforms, you do not have to be a reenactor or have a uniform to be a member of the SCV. The SCV is not a reenacting group. Many members participate in the hobby of reenacting the War Between the States and find that having the uniforms comes in handy for events such as these, and other SCV events like memorial services, banquets and such make them all the more enjoyable. Even members who do not reenact have purchased uniforms for just such events. If you are interested in reenacting or purchasing a uniform, you can talk to many of the members for more information. Don't be scared off by the uniforms, it's not a requirement for membership in the SCV, although it does add to the experience! |
