This is one of the few 4's I've ever given out. This film was incredible. I've always thought documentaries were ooookay. Everest, however, was amazing. The photgraphy was spectacular. Imax had to build special cameras so that they would be light weight enough to hike with and they wouldn't freeze from the extreme temperatures on top of the mountain. Now this may not seem that important, but the weight of one's pack is so crucial that some people cut the ends off of their toothbrushes to save weight. The pictures that they came back with were breathtaking. Also, they gave you quite a lot of backstory which helped keep interest. The most amazing and moving part of the film though was incredibly sad. The worst accident EVER on Mt. Everest happened during the filming. 8 people lost their lives to a storm that passed over the mountain. This film had not only incredible beauty, but moving music, and it was all delivered well. I highly recommend this film.
