I must say that I had sort of lost faith in the movie industry. So many movies out there follow the same old formula. And the few that don't are dark and just plain ol' weird, a la Pulp Fiction. So when I heard that this was a romantic comedy I expected I would like it, just because I'm a sucker for them, but thought it would be nothing special. However, I found it to be superbly cast. Gwenyth Paltrow was wonderfully charming. Also, the story itself was SOOO original and very witty. The idea that your life would turn out so differently intrigued me. Also, the british humor was so funny. My only complaint is that some people might have a problem with the onslaught of British slang. It's not really the accent, like in Trainspotting, but just the word usage. If you're not familiar with their slang, you might miss out on the full humour of the situations. Anyway, I thought they did a wonderful job of making all the characters well rounded and being able to show all points of view. I definately recommend this film. Very cute!!!
