First, the major flaw I saw with this movie is Kelly McGillis and Tom Cruise. Separate they are fine, but together I saw no chemistry. On the extreme opposite, however, Anthony Edwards, playing the adorable character of Goose, was magnificent no matter who he was on screen with. Great cinematography, the mid-air fight scenes were fabulous and a thrill to watch. I recommend this movie for anyone who has surround sound. The music and sound effects are awesome! I thought the movie did a wonderful job of appealing to the mass audiences. The guys watch it for the action and the women watch for the volleyball scene. Quite a few good one liners, mostly by Goose. The cast is nicely rounded out by Val Kilmer, Meg Ryan, Tom Skerrit, Rick Rossovich, Tim Robbins, Whip Hubley, and Michael Ironside. Go and grab this movie if you are one of the few people in the world who haven't seen it yet, and grab it anyway even if you already have.
