www.gorillaz-usa.com

You may know this band from those groovy animated music videos on MTV, MTV2, or Toonami Midnight Run special edition where they show all the hip animated music videos like Draft Punk and Gorillaz.

Gorillaz is an interesting concept. A legitimate CD selling music band that is presented only in animation. What makes Gorillaz the instant cult classic that it has become is the absolutely stunning artwork and animation that realizes the equally cool music.

The site has and array of cool goodies. You can watch and listen to the fantastic music videos and audio files, read the latest news about Gorillaz ,see the message board, and see where the band will perform. I know what you're thinking. How can the band do a live performance if it is a cartoon?

Well the live concert is a kind of multimedia supershow with a big screen showing the animation with the real band kept mysteriously in the dark. It will be interesting to see if the temptations of fame will lure the real band out from behind the artwork and into the public spotlight but so far they are sticking to the original concept to make the cartoon figures the stars. Gorillaz has become so popular with both young an old fans that a movie is said to be in the works

You can search at the site to see if Gorillaz will be coming to your town or where Gorillaz will perform next, as well as the upcoming events available.

This is a very worthwhile site to visit.

Star Wars Kids
This is a neat site on the web that is really an on line club. You sign up to join, Once a member LucasFilms emails you interactive newsletters once a week that offer really fun features such as games and puzzles, updates on Star Wars Kids events and information on the the various Star Wars creations. The site is designed very smartly and allows you to explore details of the Star Wars universe.

I didn't take it seriously at first but Star Wars Kids out does the main Star War's site. It seems the approach is fresher and more fun oriented which makes it more creative.

There is also a newsletter called Homing Beacon from Lucas which gives you Star Wars updates but the neat and inclusive approach of starwarskids, com never seems to disappoint.

www.darkhorse.com

This site is one of the best. It has plenty of cool stuff including art from your favorite comic books like Superman, Green Lantern and a samurai rabbit known as Usagi Yogimbo by Stan Saki (right). One of the interesting things about this site is the interactive comics you can read on line that actually move and follow the story. The one I sampled was of Usagi Yogimbo. It is an interesting site to look at visually you can also research your favorite classic comic characters history through their search.

www.kubertworld.com

This site tells you about the famous D.C. comic book artist Joe Kubert and has many samples of his comic work. Also you can order on line from Joe Kubert's great art supply depot and get information about the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art in Dover, NJ. It's a wonderful school that has professional art teachers and the principal and president of the school is Joe Kubert himself!

Mr. Kubert opened the school in 1975. Many of the graduates have gone on to work for companies like Marvel comics and Disney studios. The site helps artist start professional training by providing links and info about corresponding courses you can take on

line for a good price. The school goes from grades high school to college. However there is a summer program open for kids that allowed me to attend classes there at age 11 .
