Snowman

The snow has softly fallen,
It's piled up on the ground.
But when I look around,
You are nowhere to be found.

I roll a few balls of snow,
Starting small but getting big.
And then the search is on,
To find the perfect twig.

I slowly stack the balls of snow,
Gently with much care.
My hands smoothing your body out,
Covered with gloves that I wear.

Now for the finishing touches,
Black eyes made out of coal.
A carrot nose, a smiley mouth,
Soon my friend you will be whole.

Now I add a hat and gloves,
And a scarf around your neck.
A broom stick for you to hold?
OK, what the heck!

I stand back and look at you,
At my new friend here that I have made.
A snowman made with snow and love,
This feeling I wouldn't trade!
