The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was built in greater numbers than any other Allied aircraft of World War II, with a total production of more than 18,000. Though not as well-liked as its Boeing B-17 counterpart, the B-24 was a better performer and capable of lifting more weight over a greater distance. Unfortunately, it did not seem to be as durable as the B-17.
