bullet Required as per regulation-20 of annex-1.
bullet Required for all oil tankers of 150GT and above.
bullet Required for all ships of 400GT and above.

 

Parts

bullet Oil record books are of two parts.
bullet Part-1: For machinery space operation.
bullet Part-2: For cargo and ballast space operation.

Contents of part-1

bullet Ballasting or cleaning of fuel oil tanks.
bullet Discharging of dirty ballast and cleaning water.
bullet Disposal of oil residues (sludge).
bullet Discharge overboard / disposal of machinery space bilge.

 

Contents of part-2

bullet Loading, discharging and internal transfer of cargo.
bullet Ballasting of cargo tanks and dedicated CBT (clean ballast tank).
bullet Cleaning of cargo tanks including COW (crude oil washing).
bullet Discharge of ballast from COT and CBT. (Not SBT- segregated ballast tank).
bullet Discharge of water from slop tanks.
bullet Closing of valves after slop tanks discharge.
bullet Closing of valves to isolate dedicated clean ballast tanks from cargo and stripping lines.
bullet Disposal of residues.
