IN WATER SURVEY

bullet Accepted in lieu of one of the two docking surveys required in a five years period.
bullet Applicable for ships where in water survey (IWS) notation is assigned.
bullet It is to provide the information normally obtained from docking survey.
bullet Consideration is only given to an in water survey where a suitable high resistance paint has been applied to the underwater hull.

 

bullet In water survey requires following satisfying conditions:
bullet Size (beam) of the ship.
bullet High resistance paint.
bullet In water visibility.
bullet Suitable draft.
bullet Clean hull.
bullet Good communications between the diver and the surveyor.
bullet Done by a recognized firm.
