Synchronized pitching

	Occurs when the pitching period is equal to or nearly equal to the apparent period of encountered wave.
	Causes excessive racing of of the engines.
	Propeller emerges from the water or approaches the surface.
	Cause longitudinal straining of the hull.
	May cause heavy damage due to shipping seas.
	Cargo shift or damage to cargo may occur.
	Damage to engines due to racing.

To determine synchronized pitching:

	Vessel pitching heavily.
	There is no period of lull, pitching angle is almost same or increasing in every pitch.
	Vessel is encountered by the same phase of wave almost all the times.

	Same as in synchronized rolling.
	Alteration of speed, preferably reduction, may be the best action.
