Alfheim ("elf home") is one of the nine worlds and one of the twelve realms. It is the land of the Light Elves, ruled over by Freyr. It is located on the highest level of the Norse universe. Also found on this level are the realms of Asgard, Vanaheim and Valhalla. The counter part to the Light Elves are the Svartalfar who live in Svartalfheim.
