On the morning of January 9, 2004 at approximately 11:07A.M. Menlo Park Police officers responded to the 2100 block of Santa Cruz Ave. regarding a call of a traffic collision. The collision involved a pedestrian crossing the street, being struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Santa Cruz Ave. The pedestrian died at the scene as a result of injuries she suffered during the collision.

The pedestrian victim of this fatal collision has been identified as seventy five year old Atefeh “Amy” Bijan, of Menlo Park.

The driver of the vehicle that collided with Bijan was eighty three year old Adele Elliot, of Atherton. Elliot was not arrested or cited at the scene of the collision.

An autopsy was performed on Bijan today by the San Mateo County Coroners Office. The final results of the autopsy will not be available for several weeks.
