Arrest of Elder Fraud Suspect On February 10, 2004, the Menlo Park Police Department arrested Sosaia Limu Meafoou, a 44 year old male out of Redwood City for two outstanding arrest warrants. Menlo Park Police Department Detectives have been conducting a year long investigation involving Mr. Meafoou. The circumstances surrounding the investigation and subsequent warrant, allege that Mr. Meafoou stole in excess of one million dollars from an elderly Menlo Park man over a six year period. The arrest warrant listed charges that included grand theft, elder abuse, fraud, and tax evasion charges. Mr. Meafoou was also booked into the San Mateo County Jail on an unrelated felony theft and contractor fraud warrant out of Santa Clara County. Mr. Meafoou is being held at the San Mateo County Jail in lieu of 1.3 Million Dollars bail for the Menlo Park case. Menlo Park Detectives are asking for anyone with information regarding Mr. Meafoou or anyone that believes they may have been a victim to contact Detective Bill Massey at (650) 330-6363. |
