    On May 18th the San Mateo County Chapter of the Special Olympics, Chili's Restaurants and the Menlo Park Police Department will be conducting a fundraiser for the local chapter of the Special Olympics. Police officers will be volunteering their time to wait tables at Chili's in Menlo Park and then donating their tips to Special Olympics.

    Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with mental retardation, giving them the continuing opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and our community. Special Olympics has programs in more than 120 nations involving more than two million athletes and volunteers. The men and women of the Menlo Park Police Department are proud to support this program.
