E-mail: twmolakides@menlopark.org SUPECT: The Menlo Park Police has apprehended a man suspected in a recent series of purse thefts in the downtown area. On May 24. 2000 at about 8:00 P.M., a woman noticed her purse missing from her shopping cart inside the Draeger's Market at 1010 University Drive. Seconds later, a Draeger's employee saw a man exiting the store holding a purse. Two employees gave chase and lost the suspect two blocks away. Menlo Park Police patrol officers located the suspect hiding in the area. After investigation, the suspect was arrested for the purse theft. Further investigation is ongoing attempting to link this suspect to seven other similar thefts. |
