Menlo Park Police employees appreciate the support our community has shown for the Special Olympics throughout this campaign. Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with mental retardation, giving them the continuing opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and our community. Special Olympics has programs in more than 120 nations involving more than two million athletes and volunteers. The men and women of the Menlo Park Police Department are proud to support this program. The San Mateo County Chapter of the Special Olympics can be contacted at 650-579-1758.
