E-mail: twmolakides@menlopark.org On July 5, 2001 at 0844 hours, Menlo Park Police Department was dispatched to the 2400 block of Sand Hill on a reported major injury accident involving a bicyclist. Menlo Park Police and Menlo Park Fire Department arrived and the bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the involved vehicle appeared to be uninjured. The name of the deceased is being withheld until the Coroner is able to confirm identity and notify the next of kin. The Menlo Park Police Traffic Division is investigating the accident. The bicyclist was traveling Westbound on Sand Hill Rd. and merged into the number 1 fast lane where the involved vehicle was traveling. Westbound Sand Hill Rd. was closed while the Traffic Team investigated the accident. More information will be released tomorrow as it becomes available.
