In response to the terrorists attacks on the United States targeting locations on the East Coast, the Menlo Park Police Department has activated its Emergency Operations Center.

At this time there are no major incidents or evacuations underway. Although there has not been any terrorist activity here locally, the City of Menlo Park and the Menlo Park Police Department has taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our citizens.

From the Command Center, the police department staff are in contact with surrounding agencies and emergency services to ensure timely updates as to any new developments. In the event of any significant threat or event, the City of Menlo Park and the Police Department are prepared to respond immediately.

Although there have not been any incidents on the West Coast and none in Menlo Park, it is still important to be properly prepared. If you see anyone or anything you think might be suspicious, please call your local police agency or 911.   ###
