In a continuing response to the terrorist attacks which had occurred this morning on the East Coast, the Menlo Park Police Department in an ongoing effort to ensure the safety of its citizens, met with local businesses and schools in an effort to address any additional security concerns. A number of businesses had already made the decision to either close or scale back their operations as a result of this tragic event.

Members of the police department also met with school officials to address any additional security concerns. It was brought to the attention of the police department that a suspicious note regarding threats towards school age children had been found in the area nearby the schools. The threat was investigated and at this point in time the police department does not believe that there is a safety concern for the children. This incident will continue to be investigated.

The Menlo Park Police Department is continuing to monitor the tragic events resulting from the terrorist attack from this morning, and will continue to deploy resources as necessary to address any safety issues that may arise.
