On Saturday, December 1, between noon and 4:00 P.M. (link to a map, above), MPPD Officers Ed Estrada and Ron Albertson will facilitate a gun safety lock program at the Menlo Park Police Department's Belle Haven sub-station located at Newbridge Street and Willow Road.

This presentation will supply information to Menlo Park residents on proper gun safety. Officers Estrada and Albertson have taken the pro-active approach of gun safety education in the hope of preventing any accidental deaths or serious injuries caused by children and teenagers who access an unsecured gun.

Officers Estrada and Albertson will be distributing gun safety locks free of charge and offering instruction on their proper use. The gun safety locks have been donated by Safe Kids of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. The officers will provide advice on residential firearms storage and answering general questions regarding gun safety laws.

A second presentation will be held on Saturday, December 15, from noon to 4:00 at the Menlo Park Public Library located at the Civic Center in Burgess Park (use the link above for a map).

Officers will distribute informational fliers to schools and businesses in Menlo Park advising residents of this presentation. For information regarding this program, please contact Menlo Park Police Officers Ed Estrada or Ron Albertson at their e-mail addresses listed below or by telephone at 650-858-3300  ###
